More Times Than Not

See me coming but I ain’t got the time
It’s the notion in which it starts to feel like a crime
Plucking away the hours like the dead cold flowers
Watching the clock like it’s speaking to me
Love is a road I’m always driving down
Keeping me calm with that whirling sound
Won’t wear you down but it’ll find its place
Starts to feel like fun then it shows its face
More times than not it’s the feeling I crave
It’s the feeling I crave
I’m feeling awake and I start to say
New morning awaits, maybe it’s all great
More times than not it’s the feeling I crave
It’s the feeling I crave
Oh yeah, it’s the nature of us
Kick up a fuss, but what is the rush
Peel me off the ground if I’m looking so down
Let out your grievance, no ones around
Love is a sound I’m always tuned into
Keeping me calm when there’s nothing to do
Won’t wear you down but it’ll find its place
Starts to feel like fun then it shows its face
More times than not it’s the feeling I crave
It’s the feeling I crave
I’m feeling awake and I start to say
New morning awaits, maybe it’s all great
More times than not it’s the feeling I crave
It’s the feeling I crave

What we know is exactly enough
It’s practice or preach and its right off the cuff
And I’m trying to reach my hand down the throat of the wolf that took your time
Dirty whirl of basement blues
Forget it all when I turn off the news
What it means to me is what it means to you but that ain’t new
Written off my last line of worth
Chasing the dark again to see what I unearth
Future problems pulled back to the present
Future worries pushed back to the past
We’re in a paradise when we close our eyes
You’ll never bring me back to those ugly skies
What it means to me is what it means to you but that ain’t new
I’m sitting down on the steps with a friend
Counting down the times we laughed away the sins
How much longer will we follow trends that don’t make sense
I can't stand the ones that fade and never make amends
I see a valley of faces with promising eyes
Leaving behind traces of their demise
What it means to me is what it means to you but that ain’t new
Do they try to rope you in with twisted words
Do they watch you crumble as they gather in herds

I’m rushing in a circle, spinning ‘round my mind
It goes fast and always there to refine
Spending days ahead but feeling frozen in time
I’m stepping into a loose faded pair, up to the northern coast with the freshest of air
Where the water goes out to nowhere
It’s Sunday evening but we’re lost above
Where the fiery sun of boredom is strong
Still awake at times when the days don’t feel long
My friends are always here, making me laugh
If smiles could last forever but the months feel cut in half
Read that what you will, just not on my behalf
Pointless to point out, it’s always to blame
Our voices reach the sun but there’s not much left to gain
Higher than the place where all our senses remain
Empty gestures planted in the ground
Digging through the cracks when there’s no one else around
Can’t seem to see them but they make a lovely sound
Simple notions, simple sounds
Easy going volumes turning me down
